O Tree House
Samut Prakan Province
The 410-square-meter garden situates in a single-story home inside a housing estate located on Theparak Road, Samut Prakarn Province, Thailand. With a large Rain tree already growing in the property, the architect, landscape architect and the arborist team work together to ensure that all the built structures are constructed within the protected root zone by calculating the critical root radius. The large and majestic Rain tree is attentively trimmed and becomes the house’s feature tree, providing a lovely shade to the house’s outdoor living area.
The buildings’ orientation creates a central open space, which is turned into a yard where growing trees and plants bring the green element to the living experience. The landscape architect conceptualizes the garden design from the house’ s functional spaces and the roof ’s triangular shape. The positioning of the feature tree creates a leading line into the courtyard garden, allowing evergreen to be visually accessible to all the rooms in the house.
